About Cindy

I’ve been a practicing Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2007. I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients in the non-profit, government, and private health care sector. Additionally, I spent 10 years teaching psychology courses at a community college and have mentored many aspiring therapists as they worked towards licensure.

Today my practice focuses on adult individuals, couples, and adolescents 16+.

Read on to learn about how I work with my clients to help them overcome challenges and begin to feel better.

PHILOSOPHY

A Humanistic Approach

I approach therapy from a humanistic, client-centered orientation. This means I will meet you where you are at in your journey, help you identify your strengths and challenges, and act as a guide as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and any desire for change.

The Mind-Body Connection

The mind-body connection is frequently overlooked despite much research supporting its role in managing stress, healing from trauma, and improving overall health. I will encourage you to explore and strengthen your mind-body connection in order to maximize therapeutic outcomes.

Compassion for Self

Compassion is a gift we often give others while we withhold it from ourselves. If this sounds like you, I will work with you to cultivate self-compassion as you navigate life’s ups and downs, work through complicated relationships, and develop self-acceptance. This is a gift we all deserve to give ourselves.

Solution Focused

When in the thick of life it can be difficult to see options available to us. While we work together, I will help you pull back and explore creative solutions that have a positive impact on your life.

“When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good.”

— Carl Rogers
